Proposing Projects

Members of the global scientific community are welcome to propose projects and activities (such as academic and continuous professional development courses, seminars, workshops, conferences, exhibitions, research activities, information and communication technology projects, lifelong learning projects, numeracy projects, computer literacy projects, strategic planning, quality assurance development, maintenance and use of a museum of mathematical and computer sciences etc) for implementation at the ICMCS within the context of the Centre's Five Cardinal Programs.
Proposals, which must be characterized by clear objectives, meaningful expected outcomes, a reasonable budget, an indication of available or envisagedsource of financial support and an interdisciplinary reach, are to be sent to the President. Every proposal will be carefully evaluated and, if approved, will be integrated into the Work Plan of the ICMCS. An approved proposal will be implemented jointly by the proposing scientist(s)/organization(s) and the President or the President's designee.

North-South And South-South Cooperation

In implementing its Five Cardinal Programs, the ICMCS is a veritable forum for north-south and south-south partnership and networking. The ICMCS is working towards establishing strong working relations with existing centres of excellence in the mathematical and computer sciences in the north and south for such cooperative purposes as:

  • • Exchange of research preprints;

  • • Organizing of joint conferences/workshops in mutually agreed research areas;

  • • Undertaking of joint research projects;

  • • Exchange of researchers;

  • • Provision of technical support to the ICMCS towards the establishing/organizing of its computing and information/communication technology resources and services; and

  • • Exchange of good practices in training, research, information and communication technology, outreach activities, continuous professional development strategies and dissemination of research results;

  • • Assistance with institutional management capacity building and administration.

The ICMCS will continually solicit the support of the entire global donor and philanthropic community in the implementation of its diverse programs and projects, as well as the dissemination of the results arising therefrom. Offers of assistance and suggestions about where/how/when the ICMCS may access any available form of support, are always welcome and will be gratefully acknowledged.
Institutions, organizations and the global donor community are enjoined to establish links to this site and also place the ICMCS on their electronic, as well as non-electronic, mailing lists.
